Course Description<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This three credit-hour course provides an introduction to the foundational history, concepts, theories, strategies, and applications of interdisciplinary studies. This six-week online, asynchronous, and writing-intensive course utilizes the 10-STEP interdisciplinary research process (IRP) model of Repko and Szostak (2021). Course Learning Outcomes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  • Investigate the core concepts, terms, ideas, and theories of the field of interdisciplinary studies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Apply Repko & Szostak\u2019s (2021) 10-STEP model to the interdisciplinary research process<\/em> (IRP).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Develop the ability to use an interdisciplinary research process <\/em>and create an interdisciplinary product<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Explore and apply appropriate interdisciplinary strategies to broaden and enrich critical thinking, learning, and problem-solving skills in the course and beyond.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
