Everyone wants to be relevant. In terms of the world and all its history even the most influential world leaders mean next to nothing. In an existence spanning millions of lightyears over the course of countless millennia, an individual equates to less than a speck of dust. You will be forgotten. When compared to the world, you are irrelevant. So, does that mean you should stop trying to matter? Should one give up on relevance or meaning in life?
Quite to the contrary. You should instead change your definition of the world. To a child, a loving caring mother is more than relevant; she is necessity, she is the foundation for everything that child will learn to know and accomplish. This is because that child is the mother’s world.
Don’t seek to change every corner of earth. Seek instead to change those you come in contact with every day. Be their light; their reason to smile and laugh. Accomplish this, and you will not only be relevant but loved in the only world that matters; your family. Your legacy will live on through those you inspire.
