I believe that companies need to have an important meeting in regards of where they’re at with their cyber security protocols and where they need to be per requirements so that they can avoid penalties and fines. While advances in cyber infrastructure helps a company monitor various discrepancies, it is important that they don’t rely on the system itself to keep an eye out for everything that goes on within the company. Even though its very reliable it can’t see everything that humans can see and its still in its early state. I believe that everyone should learn to how the technology works so that we can better understand what makes it work and ways that we can improve on it. This can help make technology more user friendly to everyone. I also believe that there should be a set of rules and regulations that should be in place so that individuals cannot abuse their power without facing some type of disciplinary action. This would deter some cyber criminals from carrying out cyber crimes against innocent people. Along with laws being placed on certain cyber actions I believe more serious rules should be placed on media side. In today’s times, news isn’t about whether something is valid or not anymore. Its more about being the first news source to get the word out and that can lead to many conflicting opinions and false information being spread across the web. This has now created a lot of distrust in the media because the people don’t know what to believe anymore and if it’s even valid or not. Staying up to date on cyber policies and training as well as updating software and firewalls should be the biggest priority for the company in order to help lessen the chance of being a victim to cybercrime.
