Cybersecurity Internship

IoT Specialist

Network Services Group, Old Dominion University

______

My cybersecurity internship course has allowed me to apply classroom learning in a practical environment, specifically within Old Dominion University’s Network Services Group. Through this internship, I’ve volunteered my time to support critical IT functions, primarily focused on access control, printer maintenance, and IT infrastructure design. The course requires that I complete 50 volunteer hours per course credit, along with course assignments that document and reflect on my experiences.

The primary learning objectives for this internship are:

1. Provide Tier I IT support for Old Dominion University Campus faculty and students
2. Triage, troubleshoot, and solve IT issues related to printers, applications, security, and connectivity
3. Communicate effectively written and orally, as well as handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while under constraints and tight deadlines.
4. Resolve electronic and systems access control issues
