On the social media disorder scale I scored a 2. It did not tell me what the official range was but it did mention that anything above 5 would be likely of a social media disorder. I think the questions on the scale were well thought out and slightly extreme to my usage standards. I think that different patterns are found around the world due to 1. individuality and 2. prevalence in culture. I think this because here in the United states it may seem normal to average 7+ hours a day using our phones or other devices but in places like East Africa it may not be the same. I can’t have a definitive answer on what drives different areas to have more or less screen time but I assume variables like population, area size, and community play a big part in people whom are always on their phone.
