How cybersecurity jobs related to social behaviors is due to its inherent nature that crosses and intersects other social behaviors and disciplines. It does this because although cybersecurity focuses on online security and protocols, the ideas leading to the formation of the rules would have never happened without experts basing models off of human behavior and responses. Basically, understanding human behavior is essential if one wants to defend against personalized attacks each with their own agenda. I read that in the occupations where security is a priority, professionals must take steps to counter engineered attacks. In these attacks it is often seen that the attacker focuses on human psychology to bypass security measures rather than technological vulnerabilities. This can be seen in the difference between attacks such as ‘brute force’ using every possibility to access credentials and ‘phishing’ attacks which more are misleading emails or text with malicious programs imbedded to hack your device. To me, how the job description related to the social sciences is that the job is very open-ended, and by that, I mean the same job can have 100 different meanings based on what the specific job or company calls for. Some occupations may require you to work in a cubicle with a team-based effort, while some may offer you to work remotely and alone. Theme relating to the social sciences is by showing there is no ‘say-all’ answer. The field of cybersecurity is very diverse and always expanding and evolving. How I interpret the internet is how some may think of space. A very misunderstood but necessary part of our lives, depending on where an individual goes or ends up can determine their way of thought, the way they learn, what they deem acceptable, etc. The internet today as I see it is the somewhat stomping grounds for people to learn and interact.
