BLUF
SCADA systems are essential because they help with the things we need the most. The only
issue is that they aren’t as secure as we think because hackers can still find a way to get
into systems. After reading this article and “Why Hacking Humans is Real” I can tell that
personal information aren’t as protected as we think and security matters.
Why this is Important
SCADA stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, and it is like a control system
that people watch over things from one location. It helps companies know when something
is wrong and alerts them so it can be fixed and keep everything protected.
Where do risks come from
Even though SCADA sounds like something high-tech it’s not that good that they should risk
getting hacked. Just because it’s locked in a building that doesn’t mean it’s safe either.
Hackers can get in any way they can think of and if someone messes up this system, they
are risking the whole city being without their essential things that they can provide.
Conclusion
After reading this article now I can see why cybersecurity really matters in keeping things
running and keeping people safe. These systems need very strong protection because one
wrong thing could mess up something priceless. It’s very important to have things like
