Outside of my coursework, I\u2019ve been building real-life experience that connects with both my major and this class. One of the most valuable things I\u2019ve done is work at Sam\u2019s Club. It might not sound like it ties into cybersecurity or psychology at first, but working there has taught me a lot about communication, customer service, multitasking, and staying calm under pressure.<\/p>\n
I interact with all kinds of people daily, and that\u2019s helped me develop stronger listening skills and better emotional awareness two things that are major in both psychology and tech support roles. I\u2019ve also had to deal with technical systems at work which gave me more confidence around tech in general.<\/p>\n
This job also made me realize how important it is to protect people\u2019s information whether it\u2019s someone\u2019s credit card, employee records, or just making sure things run smoothly without errors. Even though I\u2019m not in a student organization yet, I\u2019ve still built connections through my classes, helping others understand topics we learned and holding myself accountable. I plan to get involved with more on-campus or community groups soon, especially ones that tie into mental health, mentorship, or service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
