If I had a small budget, I\u2019d put most of it into training people. Technology is a great
investment, but we need to put more time into making sure we are protecting people\u2019s
personal information.
Write-Up:
The way I look at it most of the cyber problems start with people not knowing how to work
technology. A lot of people give hackers access to them to strew them up because they
click links that aren\u2019t links and end up giving up information they didn\u2019t need to. It doesn\u2019t
matter how many firewalls and software in the world; you should always be trained to work
with or without them.
From the articles I read about this issue it made it clear that people are uneducated and
that\u2019s a reason why data gets leaked when it\u2019s not supposed to. It\u2019s not always hackers
being smart, it\u2019s the ones inside that think they aren\u2019t at risk, but any company or data site
is at risk especially if they are wealthy. This is why awareness and training matter.
If I oversaw this, I would put 60% of the budget into training and the other 40% would be
spent on technology. It makes no sense to get the world\u2019s best technology without a team
that is ready to use it. This is why people get screwed because they think they are better
than the other companies that have old equipment, but those ones are better skilled. I
would rather have a well-trained staff than a bunch of confused staff on expensive
equipment.
Conclusion:
