Mid-Semester Reflection

Study Habits

I’m doing well in my sociology and intro to health classes because they are really easy and the
workload is very light. I needed help in chemistry and I still do. I have been skipping class and I
really shouldn’t but I’ve fallen into the habit because attendance isn’t required. I have been
going to the chemistry tutor in the chemistry building and while it’s helped some, I need to apply
myself more.
Transition to College
I expected to be homesick. At first I really was down because I wasn’t around my family but
since my sister has asked me to stay at her house on the weekends, things have been a lot
better. Honestly I thought that I would’ve wanted to go out more but I just want to stay in my
room. I don’t have interest in partying like I thought I would have been. The hardest part about
moving was leaving my family. The easiest part was definitely getting adjusted to my bed. I
thought the bed was gonna be really uncomfortable but luckily it’s super comfy.
Major
I haven’t really learned anything about my major but I haven’t been having any thoughts about
changing it all. For me my major doesn’t matter as long as I’m getting the prerequisites I need
for medical school. I am currently not interested in any other major or minor.
Connecting to Campus
I was struggling with chemistry so I went to the chemistry tutor room and it really helped.
Madyson Fannon has really helped me with any questions I’ve had and I really appreciate that
she’s in the class with us to help. I attended meetings for both Pre-Health Club and Global
Brigades and I have since joined both of them.
