While cybersecurity is often viewed as a technical discipline, this class emphasizes the role of human behavior, policy, and society in understanding cyber risks and building solutions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2447\" data-end=\"2519\"><strong data-start=\"2447\" data-end=\"2469\">Course Objectives:<\/strong><br data-start=\"2469\" data-end=\"2472\" \/>By the end of this course, I will be able to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2520\" data-end=\"3103\">\n<li data-start=\"2520\" data-end=\"2642\">\n<p data-start=\"2522\" data-end=\"2642\">Compare psychological, sociological, criminological, political, economic, and legal theories to explain cybersecurity.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2643\" data-end=\"2751\">\n<p data-start=\"2645\" data-end=\"2751\">Identify the strengths and weaknesses of these theories in understanding human behavior and cyber risks.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2752\" data-end=\"2892\">\n<p data-start=\"2754\" data-end=\"2892\">Define key concepts such as cybersecurity, cybercrime, cyber criminology, cyber law, digital forensics, human factors, and cyber policy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2893\" data-end=\"2987\">\n<p data-start=\"2895\" data-end=\"2987\">Explain how marginalized groups face challenges and contribute to cybersecurity knowledge.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2988\" data-end=\"3103\">\n<p data-start=\"2990\" data-end=\"3103\">Understand how hypotheses and data are formed, collected, and analyzed in social science cybersecurity studies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3105\" data-end=\"3293\">This page will eventually include my weekly journal entries, article reviews, career professional paper, and multimedia reflections connecting cybersecurity with the social sciences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cybersecurity and the Social Sciences Cybersecurity and the Social Sciences This course explores how cybersecurity connects with psychology, sociology, criminology, politics, economics, and law.
