Researching the use of the term individualism as a form of political correctness to enact policy changes–explores the history of political correctness, the term individualism in American culture, and the ambiguous changes made to definitions based on political agendas.

Pushing the pedagogical boundaries: using social discourse analysis to study texts chosen for classroom study, the expectations of students learning outcomes based on discourse expectations vs. students actual learning outcomes, and the connections students make to texts through their discourses and discourses of the texts.
