About Me

Hello, my name is Justin Barfield. I’m 37 years old and originally from Florida, though I moved to North Carolina at 18 to begin my career in the United States Marine Corps. Today, I live in Virginia and am a proud father to my daughter, Kaetlyn. Family, education, and professional growth continue to shape my life and my goals moving forward.

I served in the Marine Corps from 2007 to 2020, working as an Aviation Mechanic and Combat Aircrew on the MV-22B Osprey. Over time, I advanced into the role of Crew Chief and later became a Maintenance Controller for the platform, supervising flight operations, maintenance schedules, and safety readiness. Those 13 years of service instilled in me a strong sense of leadership, accountability, and technical expertise. After retiring from the military, I pursued higher education, completing my Associate’s Degree in Information Technology – Network Management. I am now enrolled at Old Dominion University, where I am working toward my Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity. My goal is to build on my technical foundation and military experience to contribute to the field of cybersecurity in meaningful ways.
