I think science relates to cyber security in the most basic scientific way. Making observations turning those into hypothesis, conduction experiments, analyzing data, and forming conclusions are all steps that are used in the cyber security field. Observing weak points and vulnerabilities, coming up with ideas on how to patch those vulnerabilities, testing these patches, recording data and any further vulnerabilities. The scientific method directly applies to the cyber security field as well as most fields. Even peer review which is necessary in a scientific field is also necessary in the cyber security field as you usually will be working with a team reviewing and helping each other solve problems. science and the scientific method is very much important and relevant in the cyber security field utilization of these concepts and practices allows for further advancements in threat protection and control.
