Leadership

The leadership class that I participated in (CPD 416 Trends & Issues in Leadership) was an enlightening experience of the ways to rectify common problems in a group.

The possibilities of understanding a few basic concepts in the realm of de-escalation, empathy, and conflict resolution should, and did, allow up-and-coming leaders to effectively navigate the trials of existing within a group.

I’d like to say that everything went smoothly in the group activities but that was not the case. I believe though that those hiccups were learning opportunities within themselves to help each other grow in ways that wouldn’t otherwise be possible in a normal setting. This combined with the comprehensive workload, that usually involved real-world analysis of high-profile conflicts, was a well-rounded way to look at the potential troubles one might face as a leader and how to combat them.

All in all, this was a class that was pertinent to my future goals and I am glad to have taken part in such a useful curriculum.
