Old Dominion University offers many majors and minors for students across the nation. Not too many know how some of them are relatable to Cybersecurity. Psychology is one of the most common majors that a lot of people decide to pursue. It is the study of the mind and behavior. The discipline embraces all aspects of human actions. Some of the common factors that relate to hacking are liking people, it relates to trust, social proof, reciprocation and commitment, we do not turn back. Another common degree major that a lot of people decide to pursue is Criminal Justice/Criminology. Legal technologies for the criminal justice system involve high performance equipment including GPS systems, robots, advanced cameras. All the technologies improve surveillance and investigation while making analysis procedures easier. Without Cybersecurity , the criminal justice systems would lack important high performance computer systems. Sociology , the study of social life, social change, and social causes and consequences. Sociology has a field within their degree called Computational Sociology , it is the field of sociology that uses computer science techniques to analyze large social datasets. They use special software to study social phenomena and using that software is a huge asset to have in that field and it would not be possible without Cybersecurity. Computer Engineering is another ODU major that students can select from. It is the study of the design, implementation, and performance of computer software and computer systems. In order to fully complete those tasks and objectives they would clearly need a strong solid framework of protection of Cybersecurity of some sort.
