Disciplinary Writing
Disciplinary Writing Introduction/Disclaimer: I was asked to respond to a variety of prompts for my Introduction to Clinical Writing (CSD449W) class at Old Dominion University. The following prompts will be presented and followed by my response.
E-portfolio Task #1:
Create a poem about what it means to be an SLP to you.
Title: What does it mean to be an SLP to me?
To me, an SLP is a healer with integrity.
To be an SLP means living with honesty.
To me, an SLP must see the world compassionately.
To be an SLP means helping others unconditionally.
To me, an SLP is treats everyone fairly.
To be an SLP means being unafraid to make a new discovery.
Using the mind of a scientist and a teacher
and an understanding of physiological features.
It is a gift to have a strong voice
and to communicate at our choice,
and to use our minds to create
and show the world what we communicate.
Therefore, if you were to ask me,
I would say it means everything to be an SLP.
