How do engineers make cyber networks safer?

Cybersecurity engineers, sometimes named security engineer, data security engineer, or web security engineer, are accountable for safeguarding computer systems and networks tied into cyberspace from adversarial threats and attacks (Gallinelli, 2019). In other words, they come up with ways to protect systems, devices, and networks. More specifically, the engineers perform jobs like developing resolutions for a secure network, system penetration testing, system vulnerability assessments, monitor the networks and systems for intrusions and security breaches, troubleshooting networks, and responding to security breaches. They make the cyber networks safer by understanding the threats and risks of cyberspace and then take that knowledge and design, develop, and integrate a security plan within a network or system. Cybersecurity engineers have the resources and knowledge to detect vulnerabilities within a system in order to quickly shore up an exposure to reduce or mitigate the risk. They also make sure that networks and systems software are up to date which assists in the mitigation of cyber related threats.
