AI (Artificial Intelligence) has everything to do with cybersecurity in so many ways. One of the few ways that AI can help with cybersecurity is by detecting new threats, battling bots, helping in preventing breaches, and better endpoint protection. With the way that our technology is advancing, there is no way to tell that there will be AI that will be able to do anything that a human can do but there still needs to be limitations on this to ensure that we as humans still have control over our own systems. With detecting new threats, AI can spot threats malicious malware and even run certain algorithms to detect it before it enters the system. Everyone I assume is annoyed by bots and will certainly hope that one day there is a way to remove them in a helpful way. With breach risk protection, AI will be able to predict how and why you are most likely to be compromised so that you can fix any vulnerabilities in your system. With better end point protection, AI will take a different approach with protection with keeping up with the latest updates and ensure that if anything suspicious is in the system, it will be flagged and reported immediately. AI can be particularly important in the cyber security field as it can help in multiple ways for the greater good and ensuring that everyone stays protected.
Social sciences inform our understanding about the connection between AI and cyber security by gathering research to help AI in protecting our information better. Knowing how a criminal think and the tactics that they use to find their way into a system will help, especially since it will then be able to predict upcoming breaches and already have strong protection in its system. AI is manufactured so we as humans need to gather research to make sure that AI will have the proper knowledge that we already have from social science research. It is crucial that we have the right research or else AI will have a false understanding of how to think and gather a proper algorithm.
