1.  How can you tell if your computer is safe?

With all the different technologies being used in society, many people have sensitive information on their devices that can be used against you if they fall into the wrong hands. There are plenty of ways that you can tell if your computer is UNSAFE but there are still plenty of other steps one can take to make sure that their computer is running perfectly fine. Most systems already have built in virus checks such as windows. Microsoft offers a free examining tool called Baseline Security Analyzer that will check for any potential problems in your system. MBSA has many features that will help determine if your computer is safe and one of the main features is checking your passwords to see if they are weak or disabled passwords. Weak or disabled passwords are targets for hackers so having a strong secure password is necessary to keeping your computer safe. Having automatic updates is also important to making sure that your computer is well secured and up to date, and having more than one administrator on a computer can also cause problems as there is double the amount of secured information that can be stolen. Having apps on your computer that check for viruses such as Norton 360 which I have installed on my devices makes me feel like my computer is more secure. Norton 360 does automatic file scans to make sure that no file is corrupted and will delete the ones that have been compromised. Norton 360 also has a vpn included in the app to help protect you from unsecured networks that most hackers tend to lurk on. Also everyone should have their firewall turned on as they really aren’t much use to turning it off, itll just leave you vulnerable to cyber attacks and intruders entering your system. Permanently deleting files or apps that you no longer use can also help with securing your computer as you only have what is important to you and only what you need. The types of questions that you should be asking yourself are do I need these applications, are these files important to me, are my passwords strong. Having a second cell phone or burner can also be beneficial as you aren’t using your personal devices all the time and don’t have to worry if someone is going to steal information off the phone that you barely use.
