There are many ways that a computer can get a virus.  Most of the time you would not even mean to get a virus on your computer.  All it takes is to open one wrong browser or open one wrong email and you have tons of different viruses building up on your computer and you do not want that to happen to you.  To prevent that though there are many ways you can make sure your computer and or laptop will be somewhat safe from these viruses and malware attacks.  You can produce firewalls to keep unwanted data or intruders from getting access to your device.  A firewall pretty much delegates what type of files can get into your computer.  Acting as a permeable wall for certain data.  Another way you can protect your computer is downloading security software.  There are plenty of different security applications that you can download to keep your computer safe; however, you can not trust every single security software that is available.  Some will send you fake advertisements that will lead you to these virus filled websites then you are stuck with a virus on your laptop.  It is best to go with the more popular security options that have been trusted in the past.  Most of the time though most computers come with some security already installed; however, it is best if you probably upgrade it in the future.  Also, keep your computer or laptop consistently updated.  If you let your computer go out of date then it will be prone to more and more virus or malware attacks.  The company that made your computer will constantly put out updates and these updates will always try to upgrade your system so that it will be better protected in the future since technology is always advancing.
