How has cyber security technology created opportunities for workplace deviance? In the cyber world, when it comes to the workplace deviance, it has made it more popular. Workplace deviance is when someone deliberately desires to cause harm to any type of organization or in a work space. When it comes to this it is almost pretty simple. The deviance can come from anywhere any coworker, a boss, a manager, literally anyone in a workspace. Even someone from a competing workplace. And with the use of technology it is even more dangerous for a business when someone wants to sabotage their business or someone else’s. Technology has become so much more advanced from what it used to be. Before, employees were not as exposed to records that their boss can carry. Now, an employee can easily access information that should be confidential but now all it takes is some hacking next thing you know they have access to all types of information. Said employee can easily use this information to sabotage their own business. Normally this comes from spite towards any other person in that workplace. It could stem from an argument between coworkers, getting laid off, not putting forth the effort towards a project literally anything. It all depends on the person’s mentality but that should als come from the hiring process. Employees in a workplace can also use the technology to commit theft or use this information to commit harm to another person. They can steal people’s personal records or information and they can commit identity theft or fraud. They could also plant incriminating evidence on another employee and they could possibly lose their job and other malicious acts. They can also use said information to track someone they dislike and cause harm to them. There are so many ways that an employee can commit workplace deviance.
