I think that the media misconstrues people’s understanding of cybersecurity and the concept of hacking and hackers. Many movies that have hackers either as a good guy or a bad guy often use a lot of jargon that has no basis in real world scenarios involving hacking attacks. Just as an example, many of the Fast and Furious movies use a lot of scenes where the hacker of the group can do extraordinary things with just a laptop and in no time at all. It would take days if not weeks to do some of the things that they do in just seconds. Though there are times where the movie or show gets it right. But this is few and far between, and usually only one instance out of all the inaccuracies that are depicted.
