Cybersecurity has always sounded so fascinating to me. Defending areas of the internet from threats you can’t see or fully understand right away is extremely interesting to me. I have only just recently gotten into computers and learning their different functions and capabilities so I know this isn’t my forte, but I believe learning about them is important in order to be successful in today’s day and age. Technology is advancing rapidly everyday and I think it is in my best interest to stay ahead of the game if I hope to really be successful. I bought my first pc about 8 months ago and I have loved it ever since. Learning new functions and quality of life uses that computers are capable of has been exhilarating. Whether it is learning how to code, organizing my desktop, or even gaming, I have enjoyed every second of it. My goal in majoring in Cybersecurity is to be well versed in computers so that I am able to work for a major company some day. The average salary of cybersecurity graduates was really the cherry on top for me. The average pay for students that just graduated with a cyber degree is over 80 thousand dollars. That’s really all I needed to hear to take this class. However, the thing that really piqued my interest was hearing about web 3. Within the next five years the internet will be so much different then it is now and that is already in the works. Hearing that for the first time was actually insane to me because I had been living with this huge resource my whole life my whole life but never understood it. That’s the reason I decided to major in cybersecurity. I can’t wait to dive into this topic over the next four years.
