My study habits are pretty much the same for each class. I take notes and make sure that I go over them after every class. For math, I use practice problems we use in class and try to do them on my own so I know what I’m doing. In class, I just listen to the lecture because I don’t want to miss anything if I am taking notes. A lot of my teachers post the lectures on BlackBoard so I never have to worry about taking notes during the lecture. I am doing well in Stat just because I took it in high school but I also just really like math.
I am struggling in Chemistry slightly because it is an asynchronous class so I don’t have an actual class time. Study strategies I will use actually go over my notes and try to do the problems from class on my own. I will also have to set a scheduled time for me to actually do the class. I usually just do the notes before the homework is due. I should study the same amount that I study for every other class. I should spend more time on the equations that I have to do during the homework. I am really lacking the motivation to study just because it is an asynchronous class.
I could go to the success center and ask for help with chemistry. They also have tutors that can help me whenever I need it, I just need to actually have the motivation to study for the class. I could also set a specific time to actually do the notes because I need to just set a specific time and every other class I set a schedule to do my notes and study.
A technique I could try outside of class is going to the library with some other people in my class and try to work and study for like 2-3 hours and make sure we understand all the content. I just need to feel confident and push myself to do the work and I will be okay.
