Some genres I feel that I know very well are fictional, non-fictional, poetic, and dramatic. I learned about the components, rhetoric, and literary theories associated with these genres through my previous English teachers. They had a lot of impact on the growth of my understanding of rhetoric and how it is used in these types of genres. For example, let’s look at fictional stories. They always have some sort of main character, with goals, a problem, a solution, and an outcome. In contrast, when you look at poetic pieces, there is usually a form that is followed, a speaker, a topic, emotions, and a message. In the past, I have been taught to always use outlines. I enjoy using an outline because it makes it easier to find a rhythm and flow when I am writing. I do enjoy a lot of freedom when I am writing but I will always prefer to write with an outline. Having a form to follow is also helpful it allows me as a writer to understand how to approach my writing, the narrative, and, the rhetoric I should utilize. It might be limiting in some aspect or another but in most cases for me as a writer, I need to have a form that I can follow.

Each site comes with its advantages and disadvantages. When it comes to being the most effective, I would have to give it to “The Impact of Cybercrime on Internet Banking Adoption,” which is my second link. It is a scholarly article within an academic book. It is very effective because of its simplicity. The book is centered around current and future trends in adopting AI technologies. This is very beneficial to me because I am planning to write about cybersecurity and cybercrime in my research paper. There is a lot of emotional and logical appeal that is used within the piece which grabs the attention of the reader. The least effective is “Artificial Intelligence Indulgence in Protection of Cybercrime.” This is my first link which is a scholarly conference article that I found on the Engineer Village a scholarly page for journals, books, articles, etc. The main issue with the page is the website layout. I found it to be very unappealing and unhelpful. Another major issue is the accessibility of the site it is not free and I was only able to use it because they luckily were associated with our institution. Comparing and contrasting these resources helped me find a lot of good information. Which I can utilize for my research proposal and research paper.

As a cybersecurity major, I chose to look at USAID’s RFP, titled Bangladesh Digital Development Activity, BDDA. Needless to say, from this RFP, USAID aims to strengthen the Bangladeshi digital ecosystem in terms of cybersecurity. For this reason, it is required to deal with the lagging areas of personal data protection and cybersecurity practices that are either not dealt with or approached in Bangladesh with effective policies. The RFP is relatively specific, listing clear objectives that include, but are not limited to, the integration of digital tools and the development of cybersecurity capacity. It is asking for gap analyses, training sessions, and implementation to support the Bangladeshi digital ecosystem. The techniques to be employed to evaluate are not provided, although the RFP makes a strong case for measuring the impact resulting from the creation of an inclusive, secure digital environment.

As a cybersecurity major and with my passion for coding, I’ve always been interested in how we interact with our world’s digital threats. “What are the impacts of cybercrime, and what are the associated hidden costs?” My research question stems from my desire to dig deeper into the impactful and consequential world of cybercrime. To pick my topic I went through a process of reflection on my academic and career goals. This led me to examine the urgent issues in our increasingly digital society. To help me brainstorm, I first researched the major cybersecurity challenges that are in my field. This led me to study cybercrime. Cybercrime has a wide influence impacts people, institutions, and our digital information in ways we couldn’t imagine. Looking at cybercrime from this lens helped me narrow my focus due to cybercrime’s broad impact on individuals, businesses, and our governments. I also considered the invisible effects of cybercrime which led me to include “hidden costs” in my question, to give me the ability to research and uncover the full scope of cybercrime’s impact as I write my research paper.

I chose WordPress for my ePortfolio because it is a good fit for what I need. It’s pretty easy to use, even if you’re not good at building websites, which is really user friendly. . There are tons of themes and plugins, so I can make the site look exactly how I want to without too much hassle.I like that it’s good for organizing different types of content – whether it’s writing, projects, or whatever else I might want to show off. The blogging part could be handy for sharing some thoughts about my work and other peoples work. WordPress’s combination of ease of use, customization options, robust content management, and strong community support make it the ideal platform for creating my ePortfolio. It will allow me to showcase my work effectively and professionally, while also providing room for growth and adaptation as my career progresses.

I use what is called the KWL reading strategy- “Know, Want to know, Learned.” To implement this strategy I start by thinking about what I know about the topic and what I want to learn. After I find that I jot it down beforehand. This gets me reflecting on the subject and helps focus my attention on filling in the gaps of my knowledge. As I am reading look for the answers to my “Want to Know” questions and jotting down new information that I have gained in the “Learned” column. After that, I look at what I have learned and compare it with what I knew before. This is a strategy that helps me attach new information to something I had previously known and keeps me really involved in my reading. It is especially helpful in subjects that are quite complicated or technical, wherein one really needs to focus on comprehension and retention. In this respect, I felt that the KWL method has sustainability helped me to comprehend and to critically think.

I want my ePortfolio to look professional, serious, relaxed, and personal. Displaying all the work I’ve done over the semester I want it to be tied cohesively with eye-appealing colors. The homepage will be an overview of all the major projects and assignments that I’ve completed. Each is embedded with links to the R&D assignments, research proposal research, methodology, and findings, and the annotated bibliography and research paper with its standalone section. This will be done in a fundamental and easy-to-navigate manner, breaking up text with visual elements such as graphs or diagrams to make the content more engaging. What I envision for this ePortfolio is a polished and professional yet engaging and approachable ePortfolio. I would like my ePortfolio to make a good first impression and encourage my viewer to explore and display their projects and achievements.
