Storing electronic information about individuals can be extremely challenging since it can easily be accessed by the public. Once an information is out on the internet, it’s available for most people. Technologies can introduce some hazards hence safety of information in the system is a real challenge. Even though it has an excessive amount of benefits and can be helpful in so many ways, it can also be consequential. Electronic information can improve the quality, the work system, and can be cost-effective. Storing electronic information can make work less easy (provide shortage) instead of filling out paper works and having to mail it. even though it can be beneficial in so many ways, there are many ethical issues that arise with it. for example, when ethical issues arise when patient’s health data are share or linked without the patients’ knowledge, autonomy is jeopardized. The patient may not be confident sharing any kind of information since the system might have their personal data. Which can affect the way they’re treated at the hospital.

Security breaches threaten the patient’s privacy when confidential health information is made available to others without the individual’s consent or authorization. for example, a person working with hospital may download the patient’s file on to his/her personal laptop, which can be stolen or lost at any time. The data might be protected but can be unencrypted, which mean anyone who guesses the password could have access to the patient’s files.  Most hospitals and health organizations are having a hard time with implementation since there are many challenges with wasted resources, frustrated providers, and loss of confidence by patients and patient safety issues. the implementation requires adequate funds and the involvement of many individuals which makes it harder.
