- Module 11 Archive:
I liked this module activity because it allowed me to reflect on those 10 people close to me and if they are both happy and helpful. It was interesting to see the relationship to being an overall happy person and whether they were selfish or unselfish. The pairing that had the greatest tally was, as expected, happy and unselfish. What I learned from this module is that typically, happiness and selfishness don’t go together, although I had one instance of that, which accurately explains the individual that I chose and possessed that pairing.
Visual: This is the results of my tallying. I chose this image to show that the most common trait pairing is happiness and unselfishness, which is the kind of person I like to surround myself with.
- Module 4 Archive:
I enjoyed this module artifact because the media and the fear the media presents to the public is a very real problem we as a society face every day. The media uses propaganda, ethnic/racial stereotypes, and loaded words in the news to create fear in the public. After watching this video, it reinforced how often this happens and how it has been happening for years and will continue happening in the future.
Visual: I chose this as my visual image because the video was discussing how different the rates are for violent crimes reported by the FBI and the Justice System. The Justice System reported over 3 times as many violent crimes because individuals were surveyed by the Justice System, asking if they had ever felt threatened, whereas the FBI rates are actual reported crimes. This shows how much fear there is in the public and how often people “feel threatened”.
- Module 6 Archive:
This module artifact was one of my favorites to complete because it allowed for me to not only reflect on myself and a few of my personality traits but to also come up with a situation where I expressed this personality trait. I learned that I do not act as consistently as I believe I do in different situations. For example, I don’t act the same around my friends as I do around a colleague or an adult I do not know well.
Visual: I chose this as my visual image to show my five main personality traits and the different situations I expressed this traits in.
- Module 7 Archive:
This module archive was one of my favorites because I typically like to complete attitude surveys and really reflect on how I think and patterns in my behavior. I specifically liked this one because after completing the surveys, the directions said to really reflect on any inconsistencies I noticed between the two behavior surveys which was eye opening to me. I learned from this module that any time there is inconsistency in my life, it throws everything out of balance, including my mood and behavior as a whole. Like many others, I need consistency and balance in my life to feel productive and good about myself.
Visual: I chose this visual because this quote accurately shows how uncomfortable it is for someone to be aware of the inconsistencies in their behavior, for example. It was eye opening to see the inconsistencies in my behavior after completing the survey because I like balance.
- Module 14 Archive:
This module was by favorites because it called for a reflection on what happiness truly is. After completing a brief survey, the directions asked if the survey truly captured what it meant to be “happy”, which in my opinion did not really capture or allow us to affectively analyze what it meant to be a happy individual. It was a 4-question survey which would be hard to really reflect on our happiness. What I learned from this module is that happiness is not only whether someone acts or appears happy around you, but there is more to determining if someone is truly a happy person or not.
Visual: I chose this picture because I remember it was taken when I was with a few of my dearest friends. I love this phot because I love sunsets and having a picture with both the sunset and our soccer field brings a smile to my face.
