Check out the link to my Vocaroo recording.

I started with VOKI since it was an audio tool that I wasn’t familiar with and found it to be super user friendly. I can see where it would be a tool that elementary students would love since they can create their own characters, record their voice, or type in a message and choose a voice (a bit like SIRI) to read it back to the listener. I think one way VOKI could be used in the library would be for students to create book reviews to share in small groups.

Vocaroo is a simple and straightforward tool. For ease of use, this might be a good tool for students to use to record themselves reading a poem. Then can then play it back and do a self-review or play it for the whole class. The benefit of this tool is that it is quick and easy to use and students won’t get caught up with all the options (bells and whistles) like they might with VOKI.

Audacity seems to be a much more advanced tool and offers many editing options. You can record your voice, splice together music and sounds, and even convert other types of media to digital recordings (e.g. records). This tool could be used in a high school library setting as a club or after school activity for students who enjoy creating and editing videos for platforms like YouTube. They could use sound, music, and narration as a way to describe a genre or book they want to encourage others to read.

I tried to embed both a VOKI and Vocaroo  file into this blog, but I keep getting an error message.  I was only able to post the links.  I also tried to upload the files via YouTube and that didn’t work either. Still trying…
