This is so cool! I have to admit this was so much fun, that I watched a lot of the tours. I thought the North Pole trip was especially interesting. If I could name one place where not many people visit, this would at the top of my list. The tour has amazing visuals, but also offers lot a quick-to-read facts as well. Students might find it especially interesting that in the North Pole is referred to as the land of “midnight sun,” since it has up to 24 hours of sunlight in the summer and up to 24 hours of darkness in the winter, wow! This tour is definitely worth checking out. I will be going back to do even more virtual tours…the amount of information seems endless.
These virtual field trips could prove to be invaluable tools, not only during the time of a pandemic, but also for use anytime by opening the World up to our students. In the library, we can easily connect virtual tours into topics, genres, or books we are focusing on at any given time.

Kate-
I chose to highlight a virtual trip to Antartica/The South Pole – great minds!;) The images in the trip you chose are just awe-inspiring, and I’m sure all the quick facts will be a huge hit with students. I agree with you that that less visited spots on the globe are particularly interesting!

I’ve only explored virtual tours in busy cities. I don’t know how I didn’t think of a tour through nature! This sounds awesome. I’m definitely going to check out the North Pole video you attached. I love your energy in this post. I’m glad you chose a place you’re passionate about.
