{"id":119,"date":"2023-10-01T04:12:36","date_gmt":"2023-10-01T04:12:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.odu.edu\/fall2017-hlth101-template\/?page_id=119"},"modified":"2023-12-06T19:44:59","modified_gmt":"2023-12-06T19:44:59","slug":"final-reflection","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.wp.odu.edu\/katelynwoolf123\/final-reflection\/","title":{"rendered":"Final Reflection"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Your First Semester<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My first part of college was crazy.&nbsp; I have grown a lot from the beginning of the semester till now.&nbsp; I now know that I need to put more effort into college and if I need help I need to make the effort to reach out and get help.&nbsp; I also found out there is always another route to get to my future or destination.&nbsp; I will now work harder and put more effort into school.&nbsp; My expectations were that it would be&nbsp; a lot like high school.&nbsp; However, I knew it would be more of a challenge but it is much more challenging than I thought it would be.&nbsp; Making friends also helped pave my way this semester.&nbsp; It was nice to have people in my classes to relate too.&nbsp; I wish 14 weeks ago I knew about the recreational therapy major, that I would hate biology, and more about occupational therapy.&nbsp; If I knew I would not have to stress myself out about biology because I hate biology.&nbsp; But, overall this semester went very well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Study Habits<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My study habits were not the best in the beginning.&nbsp; I did not do what I was supposed to do to get better.&nbsp; I did eventually go to a success mentor and she helped me organize myself more.&nbsp; Now I spend more time at home studying.&nbsp; One&nbsp; thing I learned to help me keep on track and help me focus is a very detailed planner.&nbsp; Keeping track of everything and if I need help using my friends.&nbsp; Both of those things will help me next semester.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Health Professions Learning Community<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><\/strong>This semester I was enrolled in HLTH 101 and HIST 104H with Professor White.&nbsp; They both addressed the medical standpoint in order to make it more based on our medical major.&nbsp; They both talked about the different fields like Occupational therapy and what it is to do back in the day. &nbsp; When I went to Fort Monroe for the history class I learned a lot about how in the old days they used Occupational therapy for a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Parallel Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I enjoyed all of the people coming in and learning about the different majors.\u00a0 I even changed my major because of Recreational Therapy.\u00a0 My two favorite majors were recreational therapy and exercise science.\u00a0 Then from there I would become an occupational therapist or a physical therapist. \u00a0 I like these because I really want to help people in my future.
