The chapter tests in this course were exactly what I expected, and were also great in solidifying whether or not a student has mastered the writing style that each chapter focused on. The idea of writing a composition for a final exam is something that I am used to, and I think is extremely important when taking a Spanish course, especially one that is focused on writing. I learned that the more I practice writing, the better I get at it and the more I learn from critiques. This is the first Spanish course I have taken all online, but I feel that these tests were fair given the circumstances, and did not hinder me at all. The first test, for me, was a learning experience, as it was my first online Spanish exam. With this, I was pleasantly surprised by my abilities to type my composition in good time, while also maintaining the main focus of my essay, while following the rubric. I had the most struggle with trying to add literary devices such as metaphors, similes, and sensory imagery. I felt like it was more difficult for me to add some of these to my compositions as I felt like they messed with the flow of my paper. After some practice, I managed to add these devices in my chapter test compositions, and complete them fairly well.
Overall, I think I did a great job with the tests, and definitely improved as the semester went on, as I got more and more used to this format of testing, especially for a language course.
