My name is Kayla Kralik and I am currently a Freshman at Old Dominion University. I plan on graduating with a Bachelors in 2029, and am currently studying to work with the police force and ensure that police brutality and misuse of power stops. I would like to get a better understand of the law and how we as citizens can use our knowledge of the law to protect ourselves, as well as use it to our advantage in unfair situations.\u00a0

I was born and raised in Norfolk, VA and my father was a Sheriff as I was growing up. When I had the chance to, I always asked him questions about his job because it was something that interested me, and I would have never guessed that my field of study has reflected my past interests. I always thought I was going to be a Vet. Now, I am more interested in protecting citizens and addressing issues that arise in police interactions with citizens.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

When I\u2019m not studying or at school, I find peace in writing, doing art, as well as playing video games in my leisure. I also enjoy watching debates and keeping up with current politics. I enjoy talking to others about their opinions on politics and the law, and it is one of my favorite topics to speak about.
