Computers have become a huge part of a lot of students’ and professionals’ lives throughout the past decade, because of providing easy access to the internet. While computers are great and help open the door to different possibilities that include the internet there are cons to having a computer as well. As a college student, I have my own laptop which is a lifesaver and is so convenient to be able to work anywhere such as a library, cafe, and the comfort of my home, but with convenience comes comfort which can lead to a room for harmful acts when it pertains to the internet. While I use my computer for everything work and personal ventures I have a bunch of passwords tied to different websites which can make the experience less safe because of hackers waiting to take advantage of my information. But there are beautiful and safe opportunities computers have created such as being able to broaden the educational system as not having to do everything as traditional now students don’t have to buy hardback textbooks because now textbooks are allowed through technology and can access through a computer that will also read the book to the listener that purchased the book. Computers have also made communicating and exchanging words or objects with people safer than having to meet someone in person when exchanging emails, voicemails, or even while making online transactions for different objects. Which this point is important as we are still in a pandemic because of Coronavirus and having to be quarantined and remaining our distances from one another and having to adapt to a new way of living. While technology being convenient can be a great bonus while having a computer it can also lead room for people on the other side of the internet to fake who they are such as online dating which can be not as safe and dangerous because of not really knowing who is on the other side of a message that is being sent. Computers have made our lives a lot easier and convenient but also have deceived others.
