How can you tell if your computer is safe? Week 9
Every time you use the internet your computer and sensitive information are not safe but there are ways to keep your information safe and check to make sure you are safe from malicious activity and viruses on your computer. First thing you can check your setting in your computer such as I have a MacBook pro which has different settings I can set my computer to such as when it pertains to my different passwords for various websites, privacy, and being alerted when malicious activity is occurring while on any website which will pop up a message alerting me the website might be a scam or harmful to my computer. My computer also gives me a privacy report which goes into detail about how many trackers Safari has prevented from profiling me and stealing my sensitive information or tracking to hack my computer which is helpful when browsing through different websites throughout the day for work and personal ventures. Another safe tip to use to help protect your computer is to keep your plug-in browsers up to date which can help protect from different viruses and scammer activity occurring while enjoying the content on different websites. Testing your firewall once in a while always helps too, firewall jobs are to keep the hackers from being able to view you online when they are looking for their next victim to take control over, and make sure they remain out. When making different passwords it is always good to make strong and difficult passwords that are hard to be cracked and hacked into so you don’t have to have that risk of having sensitive and vulnerable information such as credit card and personal information such as health records or any other files that might be in a file or in a website that can potentially leave you vulnerable and harmed from identity theft. All of these tips can help ensure that your computer and various passwords and information stay safe while using the internet and dealing with technology.
