I will be in Argentina and Chile for several months in 2022. I plan to engage in many activities that are unique to the culture and people – tango classes, fiestas patrias, an ecotourism trip to the South of Chile, including Patagonia, among many other activities. Before my trip, I engage in community in the ways that I am able.

Every day, I use a free language exchange app called, HelloTalk. Through this app, I have made new friends from around the Spanish-speaking world (Spain, Argentina, Chile, and Columbia). I practice Spanish and help others practice English. Users can post “Moments” to share on language and culture through videos, photos, and other helpful resources. Users can follow each other to stay connected. I have learned so much about local culture and customs through the people I have met.
