Parallel Major
I thought long and hard as to what my parallel major would be but when the Nuclear Medicine instructor came to talk to my health class, I considered that fact that i would be fine working in Nuclear Medicine and not Nursing. I chose Nuclear Medicine as my Parallel Major because, it is still in the medical field, and it seems fun. Nuclear Medicine is still delivering some nursing duties except just do not see every patient that comes in to the hospital or doctors office. An interesting fact about the Nuclear Medicine Major at ODU is that they only accept no more than twelve people for the class which makes it extremely competitive. By graduating with a major in Nuclear Medicine, you can expect to have a job as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. At Old Dominion, I would have to take more chemistry and biology classes then what I have to take now. I could gain professional experiences by shadowing a Nuclear Med. Technologist or by talking to the head instructor of that major and see what I could do. Since I plan to still be in the Health Sciences field, I would still have the same advisor as I do now.
