Ranking the motives from what makes the most sense to what makes the least, I started with “For money” being the one that made the most sense. Since what the motive is providing to these hackers who may participate in unethical hacking, is something they can do mostly anonymously and the money they make  from the hacking is tax free so for them the reward far outweighs the risk of being caught and reprimanded.      The next motive that made the most sense was “Political” and that is because it could be a reaction to what the political candidate(s) are proposing to do or pass a law. While there is history of people going the more violent route to respond to displeasure with politics, the act of hacking could draw attention to the hacker letting them air the grievances or leave them anonymous like the group of the same name and put out what the politicians might be doing that is bad to the public. The third motive that made sense was “Revenge” because with revenge the hacker could be more motivated to do whatever they plan on doing and are more than likely to go after a direct target rather than a whole group in most cases. While the cases of “Revenge” could lead to something like revenge porn being put out and still greatly affecting  someone it is still emotionally driven and wanting a response in return.                 The fourth and fifth motive are two motives that are different in a way but can be tied together, and those two motives are, “Entertainment” and “Recognition” to me these could go hand in hand for a hacker. The reason for that is that while someone could be doing something for entertainment the publicity of the crime brings recognition to the hacker and what they’ve done. While the hacker could be anonymous to the overall public, the could be “popular” in their circles of other hackers. These two motives are more about a internal reward rather than something external.            The sixth motive that made sense is ”Boredom” and to me this one doesn’t make much sense because of the nature of the crimes that these people are committing are very social in nature but often take a extreme turn into violence and or grooming the affected.  The last motive is “Multiple Reasons” and to me this one made the least sense because to me I feel like a cyber crime is for the most part strung from one of these other motives rather than a collective of motivators. I think this is a motive for more experienced and or thrill seeking hackers, since most crimes seem to be driven by a single factor.
