The article draws attention to different aspect of cybersecurity starting with the information side of it, clarifying what information warfare is now and how it is now the “main” type of warfare that does occur, and that these wars are not declared but have already began. Information is the biggest strength of these for national powers, including diplomatic, military, and economic strengths. This also brings into light “Social Cybersecurity” and how it differs from traditional cybersecurity, since traditional cybersecurity involves humans using technology to hack technology. Social Cybersecurity deals with humans using technology to hack other humans and the psychological aspects that tie into it. This ties into information warfare since its using targeted marketing, psychology and persuasion. Russian military has lead a blitzkrieg on information warfare, with almost a lead on it pushing its strategies further with their information warfare. While the US has also employed these tactics, Russia has had the lead on it. Both sides are employing bots as force multipliers to increase the effectiveness of their information gathering and disrupting. Most of the bots though are used on social media to automate interactions on whatever platform. While the bots are used in a way that might seem malicious there are uses of them that are positive, that be used as personal assistant and accounts that can notify the public of natural disasters.  To conclude, information warfare shines a light and brings into focus “Social Cybersecurity” as the leading innovation of cybersecurity that will become more important as time goes on as well that it is a multidisciplinary approach that is also leading the push with time.
