For what they all pertain to I do feel like I have a very good self<br>discipline of being able to not constantly be on social media and need it as a part of my daily life.<br>Out of the nine the only one that I can really relate to is number eight in which it says \u201cOften<br>used social media to escape from negative feelings?\u201d in which I have and it was for a few weeks<br>at length that I did use it block feelings. It helped while escaping them, but also seeing stuff<br>online about other people going through something similar helped move past those feelings and<br>start feeling better. What I think about the items on the scale is that the questions seem extreme<br>in a way in what they are asking, while some of these instances may happen in some people<br>lives, this scale seems more pointed towards teenagers and kids with how they are asked besides<br>2 questions at most that can apply to any age group. I believe different patterns are found across<br>the world because of different cultures, laws, and wealth\/income of the different countries, that<br>help limit but also promote the use of social media in certain cases. Take for instance China, they<br>have multiple laws set in place to limit and censor what individuals can see on the internet,<br>almost everything is ran through a giant filter it would seem, as to the US where we don\u2019t have<br>as much laws set on what can be posted on social media unless it is highly illegal, most of what<br>is posted is just on the internet for the US.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the Social Media Disorder scale I scored a 1\/9 based on what is provided from thenscale and their descriptions.
