Cybersecurity, Technology, and Society

This course was centered around exploring the interdisciplinary aspects of cybersecurity. We focused on the way technologically-driven cybersecurity issues are connected to cultural, political, legal, ethical, and business domains.

Some of the key topics we explored were cyber technology’s impact on criminal behavior, security concerns stemming from cyber systems, ethical dilemmas in cybersecurity, its global nature, and its influence on defining appropriate behavior, among other topics.

I really enjoyed this course because it allowed us to think about cybersecurity with a unique perspective by having open discussions which contributed greatly to my learning and improved my critical thinking skills.

Course Material

During this course, we completed a number of activities including write-ups which focused heavily on business writing skills. The write-ups were essential as they helped prepare me the professional component of the cybersecurity field. Here I have one of my latest write ups about SCADA Systems and how the can help mitigate vulnerabilities in critical infrastructures.
