Why are you interested in cybersecurity technology?

When I first became interested in cybersecurity technology is when I started playing video games for the first time. Most of the time I used to wonder how my gaming account used to get hacked all the time. It used to constantly bug me, and I kept wondering how to prevent hackers from getting into my account. I have become curious how computers operate and work to protect personal data. I thought if there are protocols and codes in place preventing hackers from hacking into my account then there should be precautions for tons of spam emails and annoying scam calls that I would usually get on a daily basis. I became more interested in learning how to prevent the threats, recognize specific cyberattacks, and fortify my defenses.

Originally, I was undecided which major I wanted to be in and was overwhelmed with the vast number of specialized fields of studies there were. I was looking for a specific field that’s pretty much involved in Multiple fields. Cybersecurity has not only spread into different areas of expertise it has also been developing more complex and constantly evolving drawing closer to the future, making it easier for access. While the advancement is very convenient. I wanted to learn more on how to further expand my knowledge to protect and prevent possible threats or breaches since a lot more things such as electric cars, doors and cameras can be hacked into easily. The more technology used in daily life the more risks there could mean a major increase in the number of cybercrimes committed as well as more hackers and new breach tactics that makes it harder to protect personal data and an easy target. I would also like to learn how to predict or read cyber-attack moves to understand the hacker’s goal.
