Describe four ethical issues that arise when storing electronic information about individuals.

Ethical issues help us understand the rights and responsibilities of those working in cybersecurity as they learn how to properly manage sensitive data, design effective defense systems, and deal with the nuances of ethical hacking.

The first ethical issue is Privacy,

Privacy is one of the four most common ethical issues when it comes to storing personal data or information about individuals. It’s mostly about making sure that personal information or data is secure and is safe away from the view of the public eyes for everyone to see or steal which leads to the importance of the second ethical issue that addresses Accessibility.

The second ethical issue is Accessibility,

It is often seen as the goal for hackers to gain accessibility to compromise privacy and steal information.

 Accessibility is about which personal or certain individuals have authorization to oversee and access certain information. It also is one of many securities defenses measure to block hackers or any other cyber-threats. In order to secure the private information on a database and first defense is locked behind a username and password, it allows whoever tries to log in to be identify and recognize the user.

The third ethical issue is Data Selling

Data selling is When a user’s information is collected and sold to advertisements that will start to pop up on your screen, not to mention increase the possibility of some of them having viruses or scams. Most advertised contents most of the time are very similar to your search criteria, interests or past search history according to the sold information which could be also referred to as cookies.

The final ethical issue is Data Deletion

Data Deletion is when a user wants to cancel and delete collected data on their account with a company. Some companies do lie to their customers about deleting their data and keep them instead with the customer being aware.
