Grammar Dimensions: Form, Meaning, and Use, by Diane Freeman, is designed to help ESL students develop general grammar and communication skills. These skills are desired to help ESL student develop their grammatical skills in order for them to be able to communicate accurately, meaningfully, and appropriately. Freemans textbook is mainly beneficial within a specific grammar focus classroom. A student needs to understand the exact form, content, and use of the language in order to appropriately understand and utilize the language. This is not a single skill that could be developed, but rather so multiple skills that work to build off one another. Freemans textbook is not age specific, so depending on the previously developed skills the ESL student has, indicates which type of ESL textbook they should be incorporating into their studies. This textbook is aimed for intermediate students with a grammar level of sentence and sub- sentence levels. The textbook focuses on helping the students make requests and seeking permission within their communication and language abilities. The major skill focus for this text is listening and speaking.
