Why Cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity Technology really interests me because of the importance I believe it has on our society and my own past experiences with technology in general. From a very young age to now you could describe me as an “ipad kid” or what people refer to as someone who always has their eyes on a screen. I have always been fascinated by technology and the things you could do with it. Technology lets my imagination run freely and connects me with anyone I want. But at the same time it could connect people with harmful intentions to me or anyone else with access to technology. Growing up and finally starting my career and future in life I knew that I would want to do something regarding technology knowing that if my career dealt with technology I would succeed due to the passion and curiosity I have when it comes to wanting to know more about technology. Cybersecurity was a sort of obvious choice for me when it came to making a decision on what my career path would be. There are many job opportunities in this field and the range of where cybersecurity expertise is needed is vast. The fact that Cybersecuirty is VERY tech heavy is a bonus for me. Cybersecurity being tech heavy and new appearances of crime on the internet actually comforts me as there will always be a need for people with technological expertise in any government, medical, or business industry. I know I can go very far in this career path and be successful at it at the same time. I hope to broaden my horizons and learn more about what cybersecurity really entails in the modern world. Cybersecurity has taken a place in all categories of sensitive data, personally identifiable information, intellectual property, protected health information, etc. I hope to find a category that interests me and will peak my curiosity which will ultimately motivate me to drive for success.
