Before I go into reading the book, I always take the time to review the course objectives for the specific course. A couple of key objectives that I think will help me develop and grow within my major and future are: valuing culture diversity, thinking critically and have a greater knowledge in understanding people. I love to learn and I think it’s always great to have just a few takeaways when the course is completed. To have an ” expectation” is setting the bar high because you never know how the course will turn out to be. I think I have a positive outlook for this course, to learn as much as I can and be able to share what I’ve learned with others. Learning is growing, developing, evolving and gaining knowledge. Im always pushing myself to gain as much knowledge or experience that I can. Cross-Cultural Psychology is understanding the influence of cultural diversities and understanding the broad ideas. This expression is what stood out to me the most and is what I mostly desire to gain from the course. The best effort and strategy that I have in place for this course is good old fashion re-writing my notes and using flash cards to help me retain the material. I like this method and this has always been the best way for me to learn and retain the material. Because this is an online course, you have to be more drilled and focused, but I am fully aware of the challenges that I will face. To throw out an fact about me, I love to make collages of either pictures or words that describe new projects that I am doing or experiences I am going through. I created a word collage about this course and course objectives. This allowed me visual to understand the concepts of the course and to help me understand the outcomes to come. I created this at the link below. It was really fun to be able to choose the color schemes.
