For Assignment Five, as a student, I was asked to do five good deeds to five people that I did not know. I was asked to describe what the good deed was, what was the reaction of the individual who received the good deed and how did the good deed make feel. I learned that being kind to people in general is not a lost art. It is a heart-warming skill that brighten someone’s day and make you feel great on the inside too. As I kept track of the good deeds that I performed daily, it made me realize how this application applied to a bible story. One of Jesus’s teachings states that as Christians, we should learn to love one another as I ( Jesus ) have loved you. In a sense, to love is to show of care for someone. Even though I did not know these individuals personally, showing them respect is a sense of caring too. Also, a personal relevance of this material for me would be the respect that I have for my fellow classmates. As a student, I think it is very important to encourage and uplift one another. For example, when it comes to group projects, everyone has assigned parts to complete. I think it’s important to let each group member know that they are appreciated and their contributions go unnoticed. I do not know each of my classmates on a personal level, but giving them that respect is important. The reason why I selected the above image is because when I completed each good deed, I was just as happy as Patrick and Spongebob in knowing I did sometime good for someone else.
