Your First Semester:
- Tell us how you have grwon from the beginning of the semster to now? I feel like in comparison from the beginning fo the semester till now I’ve learned a lot about myself and what it takes in order to succeed here at the college level.
- What were your expectations for this year? Did this semsester’s experiences meet your expectations? Explain. My expectations was to pass all my classes with at least a C letter grade or better in all of my classes. I did not meet that requirement but I have learned what I need to do here on out in oder to change the outcome and improve my grades for the next semester and the other years to come.
- What is something you wish you knew 14 weeks ago? Not to procrastinate too heavily because you will realize that at the last minute or when its too late that you have forgotten a very important assignment that you couldv’e gotten done a while ago.
Study Habits:
- How much time do you spend studying for each class now vs. at the beginning of the semester? In total I spend around 2-3 hours getting in studying and completing all my homework assignments. In the beginning of this semester this number would’ve been at most 1 hour.
- How have your study habits changed? They’ve changed quite a bit. I started to head to the library more often but the tatics I use in order to study still are the same.
- Tell us about a resource that you have used/learned about this semester that will assist you next semester. The student library for sure. The quiet and secluded settings helps a lot when you just want to sit down and focus on all of your homework and complete them all at once.
- What study habits will you use going into next semester? Flashcards, quizlet, and just nay sites or sources I can that I will use repeatedly until I feel that I am comfortable with a subject or topic.
Health Professions Learning Community:
This semester you were enrolled in at least SOC 201S, and HLTH 101. Many of you were also enrolled in CHEM 105N and CHEM 106N, and some of you were enrolled in HIST 104H with Professor White.
- On the surface these classes do not appear to be connected; however this semester each professor was intentional about drawing connections between content, and subjects discussed. Discuss the ways in which these courses are tied together. Personally, I was in History with Professor white and also enrolled in health 101. These two courses tied together as Professor White’s goal was to teach us not only history itself but relate it to the health field and use projects and lessons to help us gain knowledge and use to working with others and gaining knowledge on the health field itself.
Parallel Plan:
This semester we had presentations from different majors in the College of Health Sciences as well as from different majors on campus. This was to give you an idea for possible parallel majors to your current intended major.
- Which two other majors would you be most interested in? Why? Athletic Training and Sports Management because they relate to what I have interests in doing in the future.
- What benefit is there to having a parallel plan (or two) in place? The benefit is that you don’t have to overwhelm yourself to stick with only one path when you possibly aren’t succeeding with one path or even when that path may not even be something you’re even interested in anymore within the future.
- How could one or both of these two majors benefit your current intended major? They can give me an even closer and precise path to the intended job I may want to peruse in the future.
