Welcome to the late night with KB! Today’s interview will be with Monica Terrell, RN, Sr. Medical Management Nurse. Throughout her childhood, her mother was ill and was exposed to the hospital nurses’ field. She was intrigues by the technology and the compassion the nurses held for her mother. She got her education from J Sargent Reynolds and then got her education from VCU medical college doing 5 years as a surgery nurse. She now has spent the last 15 years with experience in Management and utilization management. The most rewarding part of her job is knowing her work has either saved a life or made someone safe at home despite their medical needs at the end of the day, and the most surprising part is how the technology has changed since 1996.Her biggest challenge is counting on other people to do their part to get the job done. She says, “do what you love and inspire you in your career, no matter what it pays”.
