I believe that one of the most important ethical considerations regarding CRISPR gene Editing is the issue of how far humans should be allowed to go in altering genetic material. This especially stands when it comes to changes that are unable to be inherited later down the line. On the plus side CRISPR has potential to treat and or cure many genetic diseases but it raises concerns about being able to “design” future humans. This could possibly allow us to enhance or alter traits such as appearance, physical ability and intelligence. Although this may or may not be an issue to some, it still raises the question of fairness and morality.
